We live in a day and age in which optimizing performance, recovery, and results are integral to every meal we eat and supplement we consume. We don’t just consume post-workout protein and call it a day…we’ve learned from science that taking separate, free-form amino acids can give you an extra edge to take your progress to the next level.

PESCIENCE AMINO IV

Amino IV by PEScience is my second demo from this this summer. While, I do prefer specifically just branched chain amino acids there is a couple additional features in the Amino IV that I think are essential to this product. The most important as the supplement is named, the Amino IV stands for the 5 grams of leucine amino acid. Typically, the majority of the BCAA formulas I’ve tried the range from 2 to 4 grams but this has the highest amount of leucine I’ve seen to date. I’ve also seen that leucine taken during and post workout does reduce the amount of delayed onset soreness and optimizes the recovery from fatigue and post workout lactic acid buildup. There are also essential amino acids (EAA) along with a nice balance of electrolytes to allow you to supplement during and post workout to replace lost electrolytes and aid in the recovery of muscles. The balance of calcium, potassium and sodium electrolytes reduce muscle cramping and maintain healthy electrolyte balance. The Amino Ancillary blend has eight essential amino acids with approximately 3.5 grams. There are four flavors to choose from which include mango splash, peach nectar, strawberry breeze and watermelon (which my favorite was the watermelon). The cost is $39 for 30 servings which is very affordable. As always, my preference for sweetener would be Stevia or dextrose which they chose sucralose as a sweetener. The PEScience Amino IV is a good branched amino acids formula with additional electrolytes and EAA’s included with a superior taste and a very reasonable price.
