We’ve been on a mission for two years to optimize the mechanics of sighting and rethink goggle design to #findfaster.

ROKA R1 GOGGLES

I’ve been reviewing ROKA and their product line and I figured I’d start with the top-of-the-line R1 swim goggles. Generally, most goggles are just average, while these R1 are specifically designed to optimize the mechanics of vision and developed a way to improve the overall performance in the water. The goggles block 100% UVA, UVB and UVC rays while reducing glare and shielding the eyes. The coating over the goggles has an anti-scratch with extended durability with a specific layer that reduces the surface tension on the water called the Hydrophobic (every second counts). As with the varying temperatures in the water, the anti-fog coating to reduces cloudiness improving visibility. The frame of the goggles is very comfortable on the nose and has a semi rigid nose guard with a flat silicone head strap with locking adjustment clips for easy on and off. Your field of vision is increased with what are ROKA calls rapidsight with a 11° retroscopic tilt (as close to eyes behind your head), beveled peripheral face to give the swimmer a incredible visibility at all times. The ROKA R1 goggles are a slightly higher price point around $35, but I do feel based upon quality of materials, advanced technology and optimized performance of the athlete they’re well worth the price.
